Le Papillon On Front is committed to working towards making choices that support the environment. We feel that every small step in this direction can make a difference. Here are a few ways that we try to do our part:
We have just become one of the first few restaurants in Toronto to join the Ocean Wise program. This Vancouver Aquarium program works with businesses to identify sustainable seafood products. Items approved by Ocean Wise are marked with their logo on our menu, so that diners can make responsible seafood choices if they wish. We try, whenever possible in terms of quality and value, to support local Ontario & Canadian food producers. This not only contributes to our local economy, but also reduces carbon emissions by shortening the distance our food travels.
Our takeout containers are made from recycled paperboard and our takeout bags are made from a minimum of 50% recycled materials. We also have a strict reduce, re-use & recycle paper policy in place in our office.
